COSMIC DRONE


The band COSMIC DRONE is the fruit of a long project initiated by the bands
electro-acoustic hurdy gurdy player, Stéphane Durand.
The electro-acoustic hurdy gurdy, invented by D. Siorat is an instrument that can produce a multitude of sounds, intense, entrancing and modern. As with the electric guitar, the electric hurdy gurdy, maybe applied in the exploration
of various styles of music, rock, funk, traditional and jazz...

Stéphane has contributed to numerous exhibitions including a solo performance during the 2003 14th of july celebrations in Orléans (near Paris in France); a composition of a duet with a drummer for a giant screen reproduction of the film music from Moby Dick, during the festival of "Images Imaginées" (Image Fantasy), held at the foot of the cathedral in Orléans. In parallel he composed and arranged the music for the new band "COSMIC DRONE" with who he decided to record an album on association with Fred Ibanez the sound engineer.

This new formula "Orléanaise" (Region of Orléans), the unification of skilled musicians encircling the latest compositions from Stéphane, compositions intended for a large public concerts resulted in the band's participation in the
"Festival International de St Chartier"(Indre, France).
